Again, without mistake, your best bet is to advance technically. You cannot, however, ignore your Great Buildings. Speaking from someone who awaits each new age, I save some FP packages just to advance through the tech quickly. I usually can make it through any new age now in less than a day. After I do, I can go back to working on my GB's.
Too, you can never have too many coins ever. In Iron age, both of these resource stockpiles are going to take a serious hit. Housing income doesn't get a whole lot better, and the recurring coin quest for Iron Age requires 6k coin rather than the 1800 coin in Bronze Age. The smallest Iron Age supply building is the butcher at 4x3, and employs 66.
My new preferred method is to have cities that are not even remotely functional. All you do is log in once a day during events to collect the daily event currency and just go all out on the WW DS. It's a lot slower, but you can manage it easier, which is the main downside for me when it comes to diamond farms. 5.

So, let's say you wait Thursday for the beginning of GBG and age up. If you waited to play GE you will have both GBG and GE settled at previous age.
TT/SMB are not critical. Having at least one of HC/SC is very very useful. At lvl 10, you have a 25% chance to get goods/fps or rouges on 5 attempts. At lvl 58 you have 9 attempts at a 45.8% chance. Estimating values for each of these works out to average 72 fps per day at lvl 58 + hundreds of goods and rouges.
Nov 27, 2019. #1. It seems to me another major factor to consider in relation to game play strategy and GBG is advancing up an era. Previously there were already many considerations, when to advance, prior to an event, after hoods switch, GE. And now, if you're active in GBG, advancing has one more important consideration.
Dec 9, 2012. #1. Considering that there is a short range, long-range, and close combat units, what would be the best units of each category for each age? I think for the bronze age spearfighter and slinger. and I see little use for the stone thrower. For the iron age the archer and ballista. Soldier seems not as necessary.
